After nearly 10 years, the architect of 9/11 is finally dead. The Al Qaeda leader was killed by US soldiers after his hiding place, a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, was discovered. The body was confirmed to be his via DNA results. The body itself was dumped at sea as no country wanted to "host" the body since it would likely grab unwanted attention. President Obama gave a speech at 11:35PM EST confirming the kill. Approximately 5 seconds later the GOP began work on trying to spin the event as a success for Bush Jr. and how Obama was riding on his coattails. Spontaneous celebrations began in front of White House and ground zero and reportedly elsewhere as people celebrated his death. Europe's leadership was pleased with his death and quick to remind everyone that the terrorist threats will continue. Sadly that is all too true for as many terrorists that might have had their will broken by this death, probably just as many have a new martyr to rally around.
Jon Stewart Blasts Congress for Screwing Over 9/11 Responders
Once again the GOP has come up with a way to try and screw 9/11 first responders. After filibustering a bill for six months and being embarrassed into passing it (but only after cutting the budget by half), the Republican party continues to show its contempt by adding a rider to the bill saying that 1st responders must prove they are not terrorists. Something that no other government provided support requires. As usual the GOP is happy to flog 9/11 for their own gain but the moment their words must be backed up by action they show what hate they have for anyone that isn't rich.
White House Correspondents' Dinner Roasts Trump - Obama | Meyers
Saturday was a good day for Obama and bad day for Donald "the Ego" Trump as the President and Seth Meyers got many laughs at his expense. I don't know how he didn't expect anything else considering how he pivoted from "who me your birth certificate" to "show me your college transcripts" in such pathetic fashion. A true leader would have handled that a whole lot better, but instead he came across as a petulant child (as usual). That, by the way, was the moment that Trump stopped being a Presidential candidate even if he doesn't know it yet. Hit the links above to watch the two amusing speeches.
Lego Assembly Line Robot
Hit the link for a Lego Mindstorm construction that sorts colored blocks that is based on a "real-life bot called a delta" that is used in mailrooms and shipping facilities.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer
New trailer that indicates the Battle of Hogwarts is going to be truly epic. Where part 1 was a bit slow and boring, this one just might be a rollercoaster ride to the end.
