New Avatar: Seven Havens Trailer, Poster and Release Schedule

The continuation of the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe is finally has a release date. Avatar: Seven Havens will premiere October 9 on Paramount+. Each week of October will get three episodes on the 9, 16, 23, and 30 for the 13 episode Book One.

The series is set around 200 years after The Legend of Korra (itself set 70 years after Avatar: The Last Airbender) that finds civilization on the verge of collapse and hating the Avatar after some unknown cataclysmic event that is blamed on Avatar Korra. The new Avatar is very young Earthbender Pavi who must try to save the world while avoiding all the people that want to end the Avatar line permanently (which can be done by killing the Avatar while they are in the Avatar state). The second season, Book Two, has already been ordered and likely will come out next year.

When it comes to the Avatar franchise, Paramount have very much been bi-polar. The previous regime was willing to go all in on it by ordering an animated movie, this series, allow Amazon to create a live-action series, and supporting video games. The new regime from the buy out by the Ellison family seems determined to kill the franchise for fear the previous leaders will get credit for any successes. Its typical ego driven Hollywood behavior that often kills many potential projects.

This has resulted in the movie being tossed unceremoniously to streaming (great movie, should watch it), video game support evaporating and no more news on any other TV series and movies despite multiple of both being part of the plan. Suffice it to say the odds of a third season are long unless the viewership numbers are outstanding.

If you have never watched Avatar: The Last Airbender or The Legend of Korra, both series are worth the time to watch on Netflix and Paramount+. You can also just buy them for pretty cheap price
