News and Notes

Greatest American Hero Movie - Apparently plans are in place to do a movie of the 80's series The Greatest American Hero. The movie was about teacher Ralph Hinkley that was given a suit to save the world but since you lost the instruction manual never quit gets the hang of it so hijinks ensue. Stephen Herek (Rock Star, Life or Something Like It) is set to star and hoping to get "names" for the lead with shooting starting in July. Hopefully the original cast will get cameos.

Two More National Treasures - Disney has registered two domain names that indicate two more movies are planned for the National Treasure franchise. The third apparently involves the Gates family hunting for Atlantis.

Prince Caspian Poster - The sequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The trailer for the sequel looks a lot like the Lion, but I don't care. I liked the first movie so hoping will like the second. The movie is coming out May 16th.

Kristie Alley Nuttery - Apparently Scientologists don't have much of a sense of humor. Kristie Alley, now more famous for being fat and a Scientologist then her body of work, had her lawyers send a letter to US Weekly demanding they fire Danico Lo for a joke. The joke was a caption with a pic of a Nicole Kidman in silver outfit that said she described as "specifically designed [to repel] Scientologists." Its things like this that is the reason people don't take her or her cult seriously.

Super Smash Bros Brawl Final Smashes - Click the link for video and description for the "Final Smashes" for all the characters of the game. The power varies for the character but basically most are moves guaranteed to win the fight by knocking your opponent off the screen.

Place Your Bets - According to Madden '08, the New England Patriots will defeat the New York giants 38-30 letting them complete them historic undefeated season of 19-0. Personally I think I will spend the day playing Super Mario Galaxy and catch the highlights on SportsCenter.
